Our Team

Makotech has a technically strong team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. The directors are highly skilled people, with a lot of practical experience in major firms in the region. Technical and administrative responsibility for project work is undertaken by the company directors. The Director qualifications and experiences are as follows:

  Tafadzwa Makoni 
Director  & Principal Electrical Engineer 
MBIE, AZweIE 
Tafadzwa was educated at both the Gweru & Bulawayo Technical Colleges where he qualified in Electrical Engineering. He obtained his National Diploma from the Gweru Technical College, Gweru in 1988, and a Full Technological Certificate from Bulawayo Technical College in 1990.  He is a Member of the Botswana Institute of Engineers and an Associate Member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers. His main duties include Project Management, Design, Site Supervision, Cost Control, and Preparation of Reports. He has over 24 years in the Electrical Building Services Industry as an Electrical Engineer, both in the private and public sector. He has worked in Zimbabwe, Botswana and the United States of America. The range of his experience covers all aspects of electrical building services, design and specification of HV, LV systems, cost estimates, computer-aided design, tender documentation and project implementation. His last job was as Principal Electrical Engineer where he designed and managed a large portfolio of projects some of which have become land marks in the country. These projects include office blocks, hotels, shopping malls, hospitals, academic facilities, showrooms and residential complexes.   

 

  Shingirai Hove, Pr. Eng 
Director & Principal Mechanical Engineer 
MBIE, MSAIMechE, IFE, ECSA 
Educated at the University of Zimbabwe where he obtained his BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Shingirai is a professional engineer and has worked in the region to cover South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. His duties at Makotech include the day-to-day management of the business. His main duties are project mechanical services design, tender documentation, supervision & management and Preparation of Reports and Cost Control. He is a Mechanical Engineer with over 16 years’ experience in building services contracting and consultancy responsible for all aspects of mechanical services including HVAC, fire protection, fire sprinkler systems, rational fire design, water & sewer reticulation, lifts and hoisting equipment. Shingirai is experienced in services design for a wide variety of buildings including commercial buildings, public buildings, industrial sites, hotels, housing developments, hospitals, shopping malls, office blocks, workshops etc.

 

  Lee Manyaradze Chiura 
Senior Electrical Engineer 
ECN
Lee holds a BSc. (Hons) Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Zimbabwe and is registered with the Engineering Council of Namibia. He is a Member of both the Botswana Institute of Engineers (BIE) and the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers (ZIE). He is registered with the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Lee’s main duties at Makotech include Project Appraisal, Design, Drawings, Bill of Quantities, Liaison with Utility Providers, Tender Documentation, Solicit Biddings, Tender Evaluations, Tender Award Recommendations, Project Implementation, Quality Control, Project Administration, Final Accounts and Project Close Outs. He has worked as an Electrical Engineer since 2000 and has worked in Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. He has held various senior positions in the Electrical Engineering field and has worked in the position of Senior Electrical Engineer since 2010. 

 

  Liberty Tongai Mudanganyi 
Mechanical Engineer 
MBIE, MZweIE, ECZ
Liberty holds a BSc. (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Zimbabwe and is registered with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe. He is a Member of both the Botswana Institute of Engineers (BIE) and the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers (ZIE).  Liberty has extensive experience in the region to cover Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana. He has held various senior positions in the Mechanical Engineering field and has worked in the position of Mechnical Engineer since 2010. He has worked in various engineering posts to include work as Building Services Engineer (Ove Arup & Partners Zimbabwe & Botswana); Projects Engineer (Dawson & Fraser Mechanical Contractors (Botswana); Senior Projects Engineer (Integrated Mechanical Services Botswana 2005-8); Senior Mechanical Engineer (EMC Consulting Engineers); Principal Mechanical Engineer (Scott Wilson Mozambique) and as a Risk Manager (Zimnat Lion Insurance Zimbabwe). He is a Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years’ experience in various capacities to include risk management, building services contracting and consultancy (design & installation),  design of HVAC, Fire, Solar, Boiler & Steam, Medical Gases, Above Ground Drainage, Domestic Water, Waste Water, Gas, Public Health, Incinerator & Diesel Services.
